Come September 17th and Hiranandani Foundation School and HFS International prepare themselves to celebrate the birthday of their founder, the eminent surgeon, academician and philanthropist, Padma Bhushan Dr. L.H. Hiranandani .
This year, on 17th September, the 102nd birthday of the beloved founder, fondly called ‘Daddy’ by students and teachers alike, was celebrated with activities that ranged from cutting the birthday cake to performances of students in the presence of the honourable trustees of the school, Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani , Mr. Surendra Hiranandani and the Principal of the school, Mrs. Kalyani Patnaik.
The morning began with Dr. Niranjan Hiranadani meeting the little children at the premises of the ICSE section of the school. He shared with the very young students his thoughts on the role of parents in the lives of their children. The programme continued at HFS International where he encouraged students to consistently be in the process of improvement and motivated them to set up a goal that would make them strive towards excellence. He recounted how it was possible to overcome challenges if one did not suffer from the fear of being a loser.
The Readers Club at HFSI had a very special programme on this day too as both the branches, ICSE and IB, brought out their year book on the Founder’s Day. The students of IGCSE enacted famous personalities around the world after having read their autobiographies. Their performances were highly appreciated by Mr. Surendra Hiranandani who is himself an avid reader. The effervescence of his optimism touched a chord in the hearts of the students when he reminded them that it was a proud moment for HFS International to be recognised as one of the best “Top20 International schools” in Mumbai (7th position ) and in Maharashtra (7th position). It is indeed a proud and happy moment for HFSI to be able to bag this prestigious Maharashtra School Merit Awards (2019-20) on the eve of the Founder’s Day. Also present amongst the students was, Mr. Siddharth Rao, the author who encouraged students to explore their abilities and become someone who could be looked up to by one and all.
The day’s programme had seen an enthusiastic participation of students from all the branches, ICSE, ISC, IGCSE and IB under the guidance of the teachers who had been mentored by the Principal of the school. The school reflects the vision of the worthy founder, Dr. L. H. Hiranandani , aspiring to achieve the ideals set by the great man “Qualitas Excellentia Diligentia”.
